MBA General Management

Program is designed considering the classical challenges managers face in the business and organizational context and also factoring in the new challenges that have emerged in the last decade. Technological progress is driving disruptive changes in business models. Disruptive changes in attitudes of customers and their preferences are also are realities that companies encounter. This new MBA program, MBA in General Management, is designed to prepare students to successfully overcome these new challenges in addition to the general skills that are required considering the old challenges.

Co-Created and Co-Delivered in Partnership with Industry

A prolonged and in-depth study was done by the KEMI team for identifying the new challenges and this included extensive discussion with industry leaders and studying industry reports. Critical new challenges identified were lack of ability by new managers in making evidence-based decisions and the need for in-depth knowledge in the industry sector before venturing in as managers. The industry needs young managers to have the ability to consider context-based inputs along with theoretical knowledge while taking decisions. KEMI team acknowledged the need for students to have more contextual knowledge that comes from interacting with the Industry. This program hence would be co-created and co-delivered with industry.

One of the other unique features of this program is the provision for two internships. While summer internship after the first year is a common feature across all global MBA programs, this program will feature another internship window in the third semester where students will be working on an innovation project as identified by the partnering company. This second internship is meant to enhance project management skills and entrepreneurial skills. This program promises a balance between classroom learning and experiential learning; the target is to have 60%-40% modes of learning. The experiential component includes two internships, data analytics with our industry partner KPMG and sectorial elective courses with our sectorial partners.
